Casino Cocktail Friday -- Dark n' Stormy at the Caribbean Stud Poker Table

DarkN'Stormy

Ahh.. another Friday. Nothing our staff loves more than a reason to drink on the job. This week we will be taking a look at a drink that is best served in a warm Caribbean location. And what better to play when enjoying this drink, then Caribbean Stud Poker! If you like poker, and you like relaxing, then read on and learn why we love this combination.

First, the recipe:

2 oz of Black Rum
and 4 oz of Ginger Beer
Mix n Serve over Ice

It Doesn't sound like much, but this drink packs a whallop, the rum is sweet and strong, and the ginger beer adds a kick in the pants of spicyness. Its almost like a warm and sandy beach... only the sand is in your shorts!

Now, you cannot get ginger beer just anywhere. You can ask, but the bartender will likely laugh at you. One place you most certainly CAN get this drink, is in the glorious Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. I know what you're thinking... isnt it a Bermudean drink? Well yes it is, but the Bamahas are also part of the Caribbean, and our staff has yet to get to Bermuda.

Wether you're sitting in your beautiful caribbean casino setting, or in one a little more land locked, you can still enjoy your drink with some stirring rounds of Caribbean Stud Poker. One of the more recent table games, Caribbean Stud Poker is played like a regular hand of stud poker, only you are attempting to beat the dealer, and the trick is, the dealer has to "qualify" for you to win.

Now, the bite in the Dark n Stormy comes from the ginger beer, but the bite in Caribbean Stud Poker comes from the progressive jackpot. Yep, while we usually avoid those extra bets, this one is the reason to play. It will pay you big money, and give you a big rush, when you hit that straight and get paid a sweet 4 to 1 on your original bet.

If you haven't tried Caribbean Stud Poker, or if you haven't tried a Dark n Stormy, why not try them both together, and enjoy a little slice of the Caribbean.
